About Mallorca

Mallorca is a desirable vacation destination for those seeking tranquility or adventure. With 300 days of sunshine, it is easy to take advantage of the area’s many outdoor attractions. The Sierra de Traumuntana, the main mountain range, stretches the length of the north coast and is popular amongst hikers. The island’s many beaches provide recreation for boating enthusiasts or sunbathing for those seeking R & R.

Palma, the capital of Mallorca, is a cosmopolitan city that boasts a stunning waterfront, gothic cathedral and vibrant shopping district in charming “old town.” The smaller towns, while more rustic and tranquil, have plenty of historic charm, excellent restaurants and lodging options consisting of refurbished fincas (farmhouses), modest guesthouses and boutique hotels.

Situated 3 km Inland from its port, the lovely town of Soller (population 3000) lies in a fertile, bowl-shaped valley famous for its orange groves and olive trees. Visitors to Soller enjoy breathtaking views of “Puig Mayor,” the highest peak in the whole of the Balearic islands, at 1,445 meters above sea level. The entire traumuntana area has been nominated to become a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The charming town of Deià, part-time home to Michael Douglas and numerous restaurants, is a 20-minute drive from Soller. The villages of Fornalutx and Binaraix (4 km from the center of old town) still exemplify the traditional Mallorcan way of life.

To Mallorca

By Plane
There are flights from most major airports in Europe into Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), more commonly known as Son Sant Joan Airport or Aeroport de Son Sant Joan. It is the third largest airport in Spain.

By Ferry
For information about ferries from mainland Spain to Mallorca, please visit SeeMallorca.

To Sóller

Sóller is a small town in the north west of Mallorca, about a 30 minute drive from Palma Mallorca International Airport (PMI).

By Car
We suggest that you rent or share a car when you visit, as the area surrounding the training site is gorgeous, and not to be missed.

By Taxi
Taxis are easy to get from the airport, and they cost about €50-€60. There may be an additional fee if the cab goes through the tunnel to Sóller.

By Bus/Train
The bus stop is just outside the airport terminal. Take the Line 1 bus into Palma. It runs about every fifteen minutes. Get off at Placa d’Espanya. There are nice coach buses to Sóller, and the L211 goes there (30 minute ride). Schedule information is available down the escalator at the public transit center at Placa d’Espanya. The bus stop in Sóller is about a five minute walk to the main square, Plaça de Sa Constitució.

The historic, wooden train up to Sóller is another good option from Placa d’Espanya. The stop is right around the corner and they run about five or six trains a day. The train ride takes around an hour and stops near a taxi stand, close to the main square, Plaça de Sa Constitució.
