Comprehensive Hakomi
Therapist Training
The 4-year Comprehensive Hakomi Therapist Training is the centerpiece of our Professional Programs.
We also offer shorter Workshops and Courses to introduce you to Hakomi and Hakomi-Informed Specialty Programs.
The comprehensive training consists of a one-year Foundation program and a three-year Advanced program.
After completing the full comprehensive training, students graduate with the title “Hakomi Therapist.” Both programs include a combination of live and online modules.
The “hybrid” format enables participants to work while training and integrate the method through ongoing practice. Students also form study groups and establish practice partners to practice with between segments.

The Foundation Training (Module 1)
About Module 1
The Foundation Training teaches helping professionals how to embody the spirit and attitude of the Hakomi principles.
To do this, participants are required to make a heartfelt commitment to their personal and professional growth.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Learn to embody the Hakomi principles to support deep inner work.
Apply mindfulness in a dyadic and exploratory way.
Recognize how the body stores implicit memories and reflects core beliefs.
Be able to enter a state of “Loving Presence” to gain the cooperation of the client’s unconscious.
Develop Hakomi-specific communication skills to “manage consciousness” and explore intrapersonal processes.
THIS MODULE CAN BE TAKEN SEPARATELY FROM THE ADVANCED TRAINING. HOWEVER, PARTICIPATION IN THE FOUNDATION TRAINING IS A PREREQUISITE IF YOU INTEND TO ENROLL FOR THE ADVANCED TRAINING

The Advanced Training (Module 2)
About Module 2
The Advanced Training covers the entire Hakomi method and includes a final year of supervision.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Deepen and hone the therapist’s use of mindfulness and the therapeutic relationship.
Work with somatic indicators and body-centered interventions.
Take the effort out of therapy by embracing resistance.
Engage in state-specific processing, including working with “The Child.”
Repair and transform developmental wounds.
Apply knowledge of character theory to customize therapeutic interventions.
Develop systemic and meta-level processing abilities to work with client-therapist dynamics.
Refine the use of the Hakomi Method through intensive supervision.

What are the specific entrance requirements?
- Participation in at least 12 hours in one or more Introduction to Hakomi workshops
- Completion of the application form and a non-refundable deposit of €100
- A background in a helping profession or allied field (or a student of a helping profession) where you work with clients individually
- An ability to obtain and work with at least two non-paying practice clients
- A professional rationale for taking the training
- Experience as a client of psychotherapy or group work
- Fluency in spoken and written English
What is the Application Procedure?
If you’d like to join the next Mallorca Hakomi Professional Training, please complete these four steps:
- Attend our next Meet and Greet and talk to us in person
- Attend one of our preparatory introductory workshops. We want to get to know you and have you sample our approach.
- Complete the application form, accompanied by a non-refundable deposit of €100.
- If accepted, secure your place with a holding deposit of €800 and complete our Enrollment Agreement.
How much does The Foundation Training cost?
