Mentoring and Certification
Why Supervised Practice and Mentoring Matter
Completing a Hakomi training program is not the end of a journey — it’s the beginning.
After intensive training within a cohort, a Hakomi therapist often returns to solo clinical practice, where important decisions are made for both therapist and clients. At this stage, technical skills — the ability to apply Hakomi’s methods and tools — and personal characteristics that can support or hinder the therapeutic process both come into focus.
Without ongoing exposure to Hakomi, therapists can slip into more automatic ways of working and lose sight of two foundational pillars of the Method: Mindfulness and The Body.
Supervised Practice & Mentoring — whether individual or group-based — provides the space to continue developing clinically, to remain faithful to the method’s core principles, and to address inevitable countertransference dynamics during the work.
Who benefits from Supervised Practice & Mentoring
- Experienced Hakomi therapists (including certified practitioners) seeking to revitalize their work.
- Less experienced therapists who want a gentle, supportive, collective space for reflection and skill development.
- Therapists preparing to pursue Hakomi certification.
What Hakomi certification means
Hakomi certification is awarded when a therapist’s work has been observed by two Hakomi trainers who agree that the practitioner moves within the Hakomi Principles (Unity, Organicity, Nonviolence, Mindfulness, Mind–Body Wholism) and is proficient with the techniques used in each phase of a Hakomi session (Contact; Accessing & Deepening; Processing; Integration & Completion).
Certified practitioners are eligible for listing in the Hakomi International directory.

3. The Art of Hakomi: Tuning Your Therapeutic Presence and Embodiment of the Method
A hybrid program combining six online sessions with an intensive in-person week in Mallorca
This flagship program of the Hakomi Institute Mallorca runs every two years. It blends the convenience of online learning with the immersive experience of meeting in person against the beautiful Mediterranean backdrop.
Led by two trainers, the work—both online and in person—takes place in full-group and small-group formats, with the aim of helping participants deepen their mastery of the method and develop their own authentic voice within it. While not exclusively a certification program, some participants may qualify for certification through this training.

Please Note: These sessions are educational and experiential in nature and are not a substitute for formal clinical supervision required for licensure.
